A 39-year-old woman appeared in the Manukau District Court after allegedly assaulting 16-year-old Jason Luo with a metal rod, resulting in the loss and damage of multiple teeth.
The police claim the attack on the bus was hate-motivated.
The accused, arrested on Monday, faces charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. She was granted interim name suppression and remanded in custody, with her next court appearance scheduled for next week.
I do wish journalists would stop using ‘multiple’, as it could mean several, numerous, or many. They are different. I this case I assume the teenager lost several teeth – not many.
5 I believe.
Woman or beast?
Some good common sense remanding it in custody – the white woman with a heavy suntan.

Anyone who does this kind of extreme disgusting unprovoked violence should spend 20 years behind bars minimum. Period.
Build a couple of dormitories and a McDonalds on the Auckland Islands. Drop them there. Save the taxpayer millions of $$$.
If you reach the age of 39 and still don’t know right from wrong then you should be put behind bars for at least 30 years. Society would be better of and family members should be additionally taxed to pay for the incarceration.. Why should the taxpayer have to pay for someone else’s criminal act. People need to understand that actions have consequences or they will just do it again.
Arn’t all violent crimes hate crimes?
And these things breed offspring…a horrible idea.
The victim had better be receiving ACC, Compensation from the perp, and dental re-construction at the expense of the perp and her family!
