Police have apprehended four youths following a burglary at an unoccupied property in Dunedin Central, after a quick response and help from the public.
Officers were called to Stuart Street about 12.50pm after a nearby resident reported hearing a window smash at a vacant house further down the road.
Police already in the area responded immediately and saw four people fleeing the address towards Cargill Street.
The youths were located within minutes, taken home, and spoken to by Police. All four have been referred to Youth Aid. Police have thanked the public for their assistance and are reminding parents to keep track of where their children are during the holiday period.
