Arsenal have signed 21-year-old Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia for an initial fee of €15m (£13m), securing what they call “one of the strongest young defenders in European football.”
Mosquera, who can play at centre-back and right-back, has agreed to a five-year deal with an option for an extra year and will replace Takehiro Tomiyasu following his contract termination.
A product of Valencia’s academy, Mosquera made 90 appearances and was a key figure in their 2023–24 La Liga campaign.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta praised his potential and versatility, with Mosquera set to join the Gunners’ pre-season tour in Asia.
