Bath beat Leicester to end 29-year Premiership title drought

Bath clinched their first English Premiership rugby union title since 1996 with a narrow 23-21 victory over Leicester Tigers in the final at Twickenham, completing a remarkable treble season that also included the Premiership Rugby Cup and European Challenge Cup.

The tense final saw Bath withstand a late Leicester fightback, with key moments including tries from Thomas du Toit and Max Ojomoh, a crucial penalty from Finn Russell, and the sin-binning of Leicester veteran Dan Cole.

Under head of rugby Johann van Graan, Bath’s transformation from 2022 wooden-spooners to 2025 champions marks a major revival, while Leicester’s departing legends, including Ben Youngs and Handré Pollard, fell short of a fairytale finish.
