Broncos edge chaotic clash with Cowboys to secure NRL top-four spot

The Brisbane Broncos secured a place in the NRL’s top four with a wild 30-38 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.

In a game featuring 12 tries and error-ridden play from both sides, the Broncos blew an early 0-12 lead before regaining control by halftime.

Fullback Reece Walsh was both hero and villain, scoring a spectacular try and creating several others while also committing costly mistakes, including an intercept. Halfback Ben Hunt admitted frustration, saying the team made it “hard on ourselves,” but praised Walsh for ultimately winning them the game.
