The Brisbane Broncos secured their second win under coach Michael Maguire with a hard-fought 26-16 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium.
Despite being heavy favorites, the Broncos faced early pressure from a determined Cowboys side but took a 12-0 lead into halftime.
The Cowboys rallied to level the scores at 12-12, but the Broncos’ class shone through as Adam Reynolds starred with 14 points and Payne Haas dominated with 198 running metres, 10 tackle busts, and a crucial solo try to seal the win.
Haas was awarded the Carl Webb Medal for his standout performance, while Reece Walsh recovered from a shaky game to set up a pivotal try.
