Everton humble Chelsea to boost European hopes

Goals from Beto and Iliman Ndiaye powered Everton to a convincing win over Chelsea, strengthening their push for European qualification while dealing a blow to the visitors’ Champions League ambitions.

Beto struck twice—becoming the first Everton player to score a brace at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium—before Ndiaye sealed the result with a late curling finish. Everton controlled much of the contest, with James Garner influential throughout, while Jordan Pickford produced key saves to deny Chelsea, who created chances through Enzo Fernandez and others but failed to convert.

The result marks Everton’s second straight home win, lifting them to seventh and within two points of sixth-placed Chelsea, whose fourth consecutive defeat leaves their top-four hopes increasingly under threat.
