Shayne Philpott, the former All Black who played two tests in 14 appearances for the All Blacks, has died at the age of 58 following a medical event in Christchurch.
Philpott attended Burnside High School and represented Canterbury from 1986 to 1995, and was part of the squad for the 1991 Rugby World Cup. He was known for his versatility across the backline.
In later years, Philpott distanced himself from his All Blacks legacy, even selling his cap in 2011.
Sad news. Nothing to see here, just like all the couples dying within days or weeks of each other……it’s not going to get better people unfortunately 😞
