Former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports commentator Mark Sanchez has been released from hospital and briefly detained following a stabbing incident in Indianapolis.
The 38-year-old, who suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso, was arrested on charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.
Sanchez, who was in the city to commentate on an NFL game between the Colts and Raiders, told reporters his recovery would be “a long process.”
Once a top draft pick for the New York Jets, Sanchez played a decade in the league before transitioning to broadcasting, where he has worked since 2021.
Mark Sanchez thanking his surgeon before heading straight to jail is peak irony.
One moment it’s gratitude, the next it’s handcuffs.
Fame doesn’t buy redemption, it just delays the downfall.
