Queensland have beaten New South Wales 26-24 in a rain-soaked State of Origin clash in Perth, overcoming a wave of pre-match criticism and a game-one loss to level the series.
Despite NSW outscoring Queensland five tries to four, poor goalkicking again cost the Blues, with Valentine Holmes’ flawless night off the tee proving decisive.
The Maroons surged to a 26-6 halftime lead with tries from Tabuai-Fidow, Munster, and Capewell, before surviving a fierce second-half comeback.
NSW fell just short, with a late tackle by Munster and Capewell denying a match-winning try. Game three will decide the series on July 9 in Sydney.
