South Sydney winger Alex Johnston moved to 210 career tries, just three shy of Ken Irvine’s all-time record, as the Rabbitohs powered past the Dragons 40-0 in their biggest win of the year.
Johnston crossed late in the first half off a forward pass missed by officials, leaving him two tries short of tying the record ahead of next week’s clash with the Roosters.
While Souths fans celebrated a dominant display and Tyrone Munro’s late try, Dragons supporters were left frustrated by refereeing decisions, as their undermanned side struggled with injuries and errors in a one-sided contest.
