Raiders win first Minor Premiership in 35 years

The Canberra Raiders have secured the NRL minor premiership with a 24-10 win over the Wests Tigers, marking 35 years since coach Ricky Stuart last achieved the same feat as a player.

Despite early injury concerns for Simi Sasagi and a tight first half, tries from Jed Stuart, Sasagi, and Ethan Strange sealed the victory in front of jubilant home fans. Stuart praised his side’s consistency and hard work, insisting they will take each week as it comes with the ultimate prize still ahead.

While Canberra celebrated, the Tigers suffered a major setback as Jeral Skelton was ruled out for the season with concussion symptoms following a heavy collision.
