Former All Blacks first-five Richie Mo’unga has confirmed he is “very interested” in playing for an Anzac team set to face the British and Irish Lions in Adelaide on July 12.
Currently playing in Japan for Toshiba Brave Lupus under former All Blacks coach Ian Foster—who will coach the Anzac side—Mo’unga said he has discussed the opportunity with Foster and will now seek permission from his club.
Mo’unga, who last played for the All Blacks in the 2023 World Cup final, said the high-profile match would be a welcome return to a test-like atmosphere. Foster has also approached other former internationals including Aaron Smith and Michael Hooper.
