Jannik Sinner claimed his maiden Wimbledon title and fourth Grand Slam crown with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a high-intensity final.
The 23-year-old became the first Italian to win a Wimbledon singles title, avenging his recent French Open loss to Alcaraz.
After dropping the first set, Sinner capitalised on key breaks and maintained composure throughout the match, including after a brief disruption from a champagne cork on Centre Court.
He dominated the final two sets, shutting down Alcaraz’s attempt at a comeback and ending the Spaniard’s run of consecutive Wimbledon titles.
