The New Zealand Warriors have confirmed they have granted a request from Luke Metcalf and his management to speak with rival NRL clubs about his future beyond the 2027 season.
In a brief statement released on Tuesday, Warriors chief executive Cameron George said the club would not be making any further comment on the matter at this stage.
“We will not make any further comment on this matter until a further update is provided by Luke and or his management,” George said.
The development opens the door for other NRL clubs to begin discussions with Metcalf regarding potential opportunities from 2027 onwards.
