Wrexham kept their fairytale momentum alive by knocking Premier League side Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup after a dramatic third-round clash at the Stok Cae Ras that was settled on penalties.
First-half goals from Liberato Cacace and Ollie Rathbone put the Championship side in control, but Forest hit back through Igor Jesus and twice via Callum Hudson-Odoi, including an 89th-minute equaliser that forced extra time.
Dom Hyam had briefly restored Wrexham’s lead with a header before the late Forest surge, but after a scoreless extra period, goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo emerged as the hero in the shootout, saving two spot-kicks to secure a 4–3 win.
The victory, watched by co-owner Ryan Reynolds, marked Wrexham’s first FA Cup triumph over top-flight opposition since 1999 and sent Phil Parkinson’s side into the fourth round.
