‘Juice Jacking’ warning for travellers using airport USB charging ports

Juice jacking news

The TSA in the United States has issued a warning to flight passengers about a growing cybersecurity threat known as “juice jacking,” where hackers install malware on public USB charging ports in airports to steal sensitive information.

Travellers are advised not to plug phones directly into USB ports, but instead use personal power banks or charging blocks.

The TSA also cautioned against using unsecured public Wi-Fi, especially for online purchases, as hackers can access passwords, banking details, and other personal data without users’ knowledge.

Cybersecurity experts confirm the threat is increasing, especially in airport gate areas.
