Lena Samaras, 34, daughter of former Greek prime minister Antonis Samaras and Georgia Kretikos Samaras, died late Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest following a seizure.
She was first taken to Sismanogleio Hospital in northern Athens before being transferred to Evangelismos Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A graduate of Athens College and City, University of London, she studied civil engineering. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and opposition PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis expressed deep condolences, calling the loss sudden and tragic.
Her funeral will be held Monday at Athens First Cemetery.
