A Guatemalan illegal migrant, identified as 33-year-old Sebastin Zapeta, has been arrested for allegedly setting a woman on fire aboard a Brooklyn subway train and watching her burn to death.
The gruesome incident occurred Sunday morning at the Stillwell Avenue Subway station in Coney Island. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch revealed that the suspect calmly approached the seated victim, ignited her clothing with a lighter, and remained at the scene as the victim succumbed to her injuries.
The gruesome act was captured on video and shared widely online.
Officers arrived to find the victim fully engulfed in flames, which were extinguished by an MTA employee. Zapeta, who entered the U.S. illegally in 2018, was arrested without resistance after being spotted on another train later that day.
The suspect, who has no prior arrests in New York City but one on record in Arizona, was apprehended thanks to the vigilance of three high school students who recognised him from publicly released images.
Transit officers detained Zapeta at a subsequent subway station, where he was found carrying a lighter.
Mayor Eric Adams condemned the attack as a “senseless killing” and praised the quick response of the public.
Diversity strikes again……now cue the whining woke-ists, who claim its all in our heads……
Probably get a pardon from Brandon.
