Trump loyalist beats Massie in Kentucky

Thomas Massie loses Kentucky
Donald Trump (L), Thomas Massie (R).

Long-serving Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie has lost his Republican primary battle to Trump-backed former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein in a major political win for Donald Trump.

Massie, who frequently clashed with Trump over government spending, foreign policy, the Iran War, and the release of the Epstein files, was defeated 55-45 after a bitter and heavily funded campaign that became the most expensive House primary in US history.

Trump repeatedly attacked Massie during the race and urged Republicans to support Gallrein, whose campaign received backing from several of the president’s top donors.

In his concession speech, Massie said voters had chosen party loyalty over principle, while Gallrein thanked Trump for his support and pledged to represent Kentucky families in Washington.
