Trump stands firm in court as Stormy Daniels’ claims questioned

Stormy Daniels - Donald Trump news

At the landmark criminal trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump, adult film actress Stormy Daniels gave controversial testimony that has left spectators divided on its credibility.

Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, accused Trump of inappropriate behaviour during an encounter in 2006. However, Trump’s lawyers claim her testimony was marked by significant inconsistencies and unverified allegations, casting doubt on her allegations.

On the witness stand today, Daniels recounted a meeting with Trump at a Lake Tahoe golf event, a gathering attended by numerous celebrities, where she claimed the incident occurred in Trump’s hotel suite in 2006. ‘This is the only way you’re getting out of the trailer park,’ she claims Trump said to her prior to the alleged sexual encounter.

Despite her allegations, Trump, who was a successful New York real-estate mogul and the celebrity host of The Apprentice at the time, has consistently denied any sexual encounter with Daniels.

In court, Trump, who served as U.S. President from 2017 to 2021 and is a current candidate in the presidential race, remained composed as he observed Daniels’ testimony. His legal team pointed out that Daniels had previously sought a role on Trump’s TV show, suggesting a potential motive for her accusations.

The charges against Trump involve allegations of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment said to be made to Daniels. This payment, Trump asserts, was unjustly characterised by prosecutors aiming to tarnish his political comeback. He pleaded not guilty, dismissing the trial as a politically motivated attempt to prevent his re-election against Democrat Joe Biden.

During the proceedings Justice Juan Merchan instructed the prosecution to limit the explicitness of the testimony, underscoring the need for decorum and relevancy in the courtroom. This directive came after Trump’s defense argued that detailed discussions of the alleged encounter were unnecessary and prejudicial.

The case has become a focal point for debates over free speech, with Trump criticising a gag order as a breach of his rights. Despite facing multiple charges in separate cases, this trial, occurring before the November 5 election, has captured significant public and media attention.

Trump’s and his supporters argue that the ongoing legal challenges are part of a broader effort to undermine his legitimate pursuit of the Presidential office.

  1. Stormy admitted a few years ago that nothing happened between her and Trump so at which point was she Lying, Then or Now?

Either way it makes her an unreliable witness.

    • Almost as if women who have sex on camera for money are of low moral standards or something 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

  2. I’ve never known anything so ridiculous, I hope all these lying cases fall apart and Trump wins the election.

  3. Would this not be easier if they got Stormey hooked up to a polygraph whilst injected with some truth serum. Would that not remove this ridiculous drama once and for all. How much would sodium pentothal (or whatever) cost? How much to hire someone to do a polygraph? Got to be less that the hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees?

I understand that Trump’s lawyer at the time folded the “hush money” into legal fees so that Trump does not actually know about this at all.

Of course, we all know what this is: Lawfare in order to attempt to stop Trump from winning 2024.
