Watch: ‘A shambles’: Harris booed, heckled and abused at recent campaign events

Democrat presidential contender Kamala Harris faced vocal abuse at recent campaign stops, with rallies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Houston, Texas, marked by booing, heckling, and crowd outbursts of anger towards her.

In Kalamazoo, anti-war protesters disrupted Harris’s speech, shouting insults, loudly booing, and calling her a “piece of s***”. Tweets from attendees painted a stark picture. “Holy smokes! Kamala gets heckled, called a ‘piece of sh-t’ and booed loudly by anti-war protestors,” read one post, capturing the discontent that reportedly left Harris struggling to maintain control.

The scene was equally chaotic at her Houston rally, where expectations of a Beyonce performance led to an outburst of anger when the singer did not perform. According to social media reactions, some attendees had anticipated a concert, waiting hours only to be disappointed.

One tweet described the event as “a complete disaster” with crowds “fuming that Beyonce didn’t perform.” Another tweet referenced reports from others claimed a “Bait and switch” – alleging the Harris campaign misled attendees into believing Beyonce would take the stage. Footage showed hundreds of people streaming to the exits once the pop star left.

Critics say the incidents reflect poorly on Harris’s ability to handle a live audience.

One tweet summarised the discontent: “She can’t even deliver on promises to her own followers… Kamala Harris is a mess.”

The recent reception marks a challenging stretch for Harris, with multiple tweets indicating that audiences have been vocal in their criticism across various cities, calling her campaign “a shambles” and Harris “scorched on stage.”

As her campaign tour continues, she faces mounting public pressure and skepticism regarding the real level of her support among voters and the accuracy of legacy media polls, especially as some in the crowd were heard shouting, “We want Trump!”
