Watch: France Hit by Mass Protests Amid Presidential Election

The first round of presidential elections in France was held on Sunday, and the second is set for 24 April because no candidate gained a simple majority.

As 97% of the vote has been counted, President Emmanuel Macron and head of the National Rally Marine Le Pen are heading to the second round, getting 27.6% and 23.4% respectively.

Tensions are flaring up in France amid the presidential race, with people taking to the streets and holding demonstrations in support of their candidates or protesting against their rivals.

In the city of Rennes, Brittany, several rallies took place, resulting in clashes and arson. While some protesters backed Le Pen, Antifa groups marched through the city, chanting slogans against both leading candidates.

  1. If Le Pen was elected, it would be a massive kick in the guts to all of the left wing and progressive nutters in France. Alas, the string pullers will never let it happen. Macron will be allowed to win and go on to complete his destruction of a once wonderful and vibrant country.

  2. AUKUS deal was a deceit and blow to France. Macron made some drama to fool the French public. Macron being a past WEF student and promoted to the throne by the deep state, he will be subservient. My speculation is that he Greens in France will rescue him in a neck to neck race. Greens are just another creation of the deep state to exercise control of certain section of the educated fools and uneducated obsessive outliers. Fingers crossed but it all depends on how much greens get in France (and they play a major role of sabotage in Germany).
