Jodi, an Australian born artist, came to New Zealand at 21 years of age and signed to EMI.
She featured weekly on New Zealand Television screens along with Brendan Dugan, as part of TVNZ’s ‘That’s Country’ show for 8 years, and they both became household names.
Singing together as a duet regularly, their names became synonymous with each other from weekly screenings of That’s Country on TVNZ to Royal Variety performances, touring the country on sell out tours with Gray Bartlett, Hamilton County Bluegrass band and many others & touring the USA.
In 1982 CBS (Sony) released their most successful album as recording artists, the duet album ‘Fairweather Friends’ which went platinum in NZ. Both Jodi and Brendan are now in their 70s but still both out performing in May they both performed at The Bay of Island Country Rock festival.
This year marks 40 years since the release of ‘Fairweather friends’ as Jodi releases her 10th studio album ‘For the Love of Country’ which took the #1 Spot in its opening week on the Official NZ Album Charts in May and #1 on the IMNZ Chart. (40 years to the week of Fair Weather Friends taking its highest chart position.
‘Jodi Vaughan For the Love of Country’ is the 10th Studio album from this NZ Queen of Country music. The album is packed full of original works from Jodi with her traditional country upbeat flavour. Some of the tracks have been released as independent singles, without being on an album previously, and have graced the top of the Australian Country Songs Airplay Chart including ‘Aussie Proud’ , ‘4 Legged Angel’ and ‘It’s Not Always Love’.
