David Jolicoeur, better known by his stage name Posdnuos, has passed away aged 54.
The cause of death has not been made public. In 2018 the rapper was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.
Jolicoeur was a member of hip hop group De La Soul. He was born on August 22, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York. Along with his De La Soul bandmates Trugoy the Dove (David Jude Jolicoeur) and Pasemaster Mase (Vincent Mason), Posdnuos has been a prominent figure in the alternative hip hop movement since the group’s formation in 1987.
Jolicoeur was known for his smooth, mellifluous flow and socially conscious lyrics, and was widely praised for his contributions to the De La Soul discography.
De La Soul have released several critically acclaimed albums, including “3 Feet High and Rising,” “De La Soul Is Dead,” and “Art Official Intelligence.”
