In his first TV appearance of the year, late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel unloaded on NFL star Aaron Rodgers.
The monologue followed Rodgers’ suggestion on The Pat McAfee Show that Kimmel’s name would appear in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein released by a US court earlier this week.
Kimmel’s name was not mentioned in the documents.
Kimmel’s response was a seven-minute monologue where he mocked Rodgers and demanded an apology.
Kimmel addressed the impact of such allegations, mentioning how they affect him and his family. He suggested that Rodgers either believed the conspiracy or said it out of spite for Kimmel making fun of him in the past.
Kimmel also criticised Rodgers’ ‘self-perception’ and refuted the notion that calling someone a paedophile is merely ‘trash talk’.
Kimmel concluded by stating he would accept an apology from Rodgers, though he doubted one would come.
Rodgers said he would address the situation on McAfee’s show on Tuesday.
