The Waikato Regional Council has voted to leave Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ), citing concerns about its cost, political orientation, and lack of relevance to regional councils.
The 6-5 decision, with one abstention, makes Waikato the eighth council to exit LGNZ in two years, joining major councils like Auckland and Christchurch.
Speaking to legacy media (paywalled) Councillor Warren Maher criticised LGNZ for being “left-leaning” and overly focused on district rather than regional issues, arguing its $122,000 annual fee was unjustified.
Supporters of the decision believe their in-house expertise and membership in Te Uru Kahika better serve their needs.
RE… legacy media (pay-walled)…
…they may just as well look at the walls of the grave they dig themselves.
People will contribute to worthwhile information.
And free contributions to freelance journalists (not the presstitutes that call themselves ‘journalists’) will only increase at the same rate as lame-stream lying propaganda media is going broke.
As to the waikato cuntcil, well they might as well jump into the same grave if they do not hear the constituents. Hopefully they do not forget that they live in the Waikato. There is no fake cushy job waiting for councilors at otago university or some hide-out at Harvard.
Or have they taken on painting pictures or writing kiddies books?
New Zealand’s 16 regional and unitary councils have a long history of partnership. Collectively, we’re Te Uru Kahika – Regional and Unitary Councils Aotearoa. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. FFS.
So are these regional and unitary cuntsils collectively parasites?
What they are cooking up, throwing ratepayers into the frying pan, gets them into the fire.
These megalomaniacs should be all fired.

Te Uru Kahika means ‘where the access is’ or ‘accessibility’ and not access for extortion and rort, FFS.
So for you councilor (’cause you said ‘we’re’) we spell it out:
rort:
Noun rort (plural rorts). A scam or fraud, especially involving the misappropriation of public money or resources.
Verb rort (third-person singular simple present rorts, present participle rorting, past participle rorted) To cheat or defraud.
We don’t need to explain extortion ’cause it’s THE principle of any mafia.
Te Uru Kahika is -as was- karapu tama tawhito.
Not sure if mana is bestowed on the one who has the impertinence to stand up for rort.
Or maybe it is.
By your clan, ay?
fFs the others, ay?
The councils I previously worked for demonstrated contempt for ratepayers by creating unnecessary costs for ratepayers. The logic was that council does not need to be financially prudent because they will never go broke because they can increase the rates if they might be short of money.
Good! Lets see more leave. We need rates capped to inflation as is the case in large parts of Australia.
