GB News has become Britain’s most-watched news channel for the first time, overtaking both the BBC News Channel and Sky News in July 2025, according to official BARB ratings.
BARB ratings are provided by the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board, and are the official UK television audience measurement figures.
The channel led across key time slots including breakfast, weekday prime time, and Sunday political coverage, with standout performances such as The Camilla Tominey Show.
With average daily views surpassing 80,000, GB News achieved a 1.34% audience share—edging out the BBC and leaving Sky News in a distant third.
The milestone comes just four years after the channel’s launch and amid plans to expand internationally with new programming from Washington DC.
GB News leaders called the achievement a “seismic moment” and reaffirmed their ambition to become the UK’s biggest news channel by 2028.
