Search resumes in Australian outback for missing four-year-old

South Australia Police and Australian Defence Force personnel will resume their search on Tuesday for four-year-old Gus, who vanished from his family’s remote 6000-hectare sheep station near Yunta on September 27.

The renewed effort will expand beyond areas already extensively searched, following one of the largest and most protracted search operations in SA Police history.

Despite infrared drone sweeps and extensive ground efforts, only a single footprint matching Gus’s boots has been found. Police say the boy, described as quiet but adventurous, likely wandered off from the homestead.

Authorities continue to liaise closely with the devastated family, urging the public to rely on official sources amid misinformation circulating online.
