Former prime minister Helen Clark has labelled Opportunity Party leader Qiulae Wong’s Q+A interview over the weekend a “train wreck,” criticising her defence of TOP’s positions as “fantasy posing as policy”.

Wong was also challenged over the party accepting more than $400,000 in large donations while proposing restrictions on them, and conceded its board could overrule elected MPs in some circumstances.

With TOP reaching 8% in recent polls, RCR’s Fourth Estate panel examined the party’s sudden rise and asked how much of its growing support is being driven by media coverage and strategic PR. Read more at Chris Lynch Media or watch The Fourth Estate on RCR.
