Isak faces months out after leg fracture and surgery

Alexander Isak is set to miss at least several months after sustaining a fracture to his left leg that required surgery, Liverpool have confirmed.

The club said the 26-year-old Sweden striker successfully underwent an operation on an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture, but did not give a specific recovery timeline.

Isak was injured during Liverpool’s match against Tottenham on Saturday after being challenged by Micky van de Ven moments after coming off the bench to score, and was unable to continue, leaving the pitch in visible discomfort.

The £125 million summer signing has scored three goals in 16 appearances since joining from Newcastle, but the setback adds to a difficult period marked by earlier injury issues, disrupted pre-season preparations, and ongoing struggles for form and fitness since his September arrival.
