A memorial plaque honouring the life and career of Christchurch actress Joslyn Vanessa Brandt was unveiled at the Lumiere Cinema in the Historic Arts Centre in Christchurch.
The touching tribute brought together family members, friends, cinema owners, film industry colleagues, and Anglican Minister Geoff Cotton to commemorate her legacy.
Joslyn, who tragically passed away earlier this year at the age of 43, was best known for her role as Madame Mazadaam in the feature film The Five Kingdoms – Trilogy. Her performance, filmed at Jackson’s Hotel in Otira and other Canterbury locations, showcased her remarkable talent and on-screen presence.
The plaque, placed fittingly beside a painting of renowned Italian surrealist filmmaker Federico Fellini, reflects the enduring impact Joslyn made in her all-too-brief career.
Those gathered spoke of her vivacious personality, immense talent, and the bright future that lay ahead.
