London’s Metropolitan Police have urged anyone who believes they were sexually assaulted while participating in Married at First Sight (MAFS) UK to contact authorities following explosive allegations revealed in a state television Panorama investigation.
The programme detailed claims from three women, including allegations of rape and non-consensual sexual acts involving their on-screen partners during filming of the Channel 4 reality series.
Police said no formal criminal complaints had yet been made but confirmed they were engaging with production teams and encouraging potential victims to report incidents.
Channel 4 has since removed episodes and social media content linked to the show, while sponsors have begun distancing themselves and regulators raised concerns about participant welfare.
Production company CPL maintains its safeguarding systems were industry-leading, but growing scrutiny has triggered an external review and calls for stronger protections on reality television programmes centred around intimacy and relationships.
