Earl Spencer, brother of Princess Diana reveals he was sexually abused at boarding school

Earl Spencer A Very Private School news

Earl Spencer, Diana, Princess of Wales’s younger brother, disclosed in his memoir that he was sexually abused by a female staff member at Maidwell Hall in Northamptonshire during the 1970s, when he was 11 years old.

The allegations were detailed in an extract published by the UK Mail on Sunday.

Earl Spencer, now 59, recounted his harrowing experiences at the boarding school, which he attended from ages eight to thirteen. He described the abuser as a ‘voracious paedophile’ who groomed and abused him and other boys in their dormitory beds at night.

He also alleged that the school’s then-headmaster, John Porch, who is now deceased, delivered ‘brutal beatings’ with what Spencer believes was a sexual gratification motive.

The school responded to the allegations saying it was ‘sobering’ to learn about Spencer’s experiences while emphasising such practices, once deemed normal, are now unequivocally unacceptable. The school referred the allegations to a local authority designated officer.

Earl Spencer’s memoir, titled A Very Private School reflects on his ‘absolutely hellish experience’ reliving his past trauma.

The Earl established that the accused staff member is either living abroad or has passed away.

  1. ALWAYS HOME-SCHOOL if you have school-age children.
NEVER send them to a Boarding School-such schools are only a step-up from a Lake Alice scenario!
Had I known that an adult staff member was doing this tom my child, in any scholastic setting, it’s game-over for that particular person!
