Alice Mackey, 42, has been charged with the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Annabel, who was found unresponsive in a pond near their home in Kingsley, Hampshire, in September 2023.
Annabel went missing on September 10, prompting a major police search before she was discovered in the water half a mile away.
She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died the following day.
Annabel’s father, Peter, paid tribute to his daughter, describing her as a “beautiful, positive, and very happy little girl.” Mackey has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in court this week as the investigation into the tragic case continues.
