Carter Holt Harvey has confirmed its Tokoroa plywood plant will close in November, resulting in 119 job losses.
The announcement was made to workers this afternoon, with a small number expected to stay on to process imported timber.
The decision follows two weeks of consultation on the plant’s future, which had remained uncertain until now.

Price of power is the problem.
The white collars have control they have no experience with electrical engineering they are miss managing its a disgrace.
The way the market is structured the less power in the market the price goes up its a failed model, incompetence is rewarded anyone who thinks about it can see this.
Question is, is this intentional or are our leaders that stupid?
This of course is happening throughout NZ.

We know that does not work for long, no incentives to work its a failure.

Either way this is devastating for these towns. Tokoroa will suffer badly. 🙁
