Canterbury Police have arrested 19 people this week in an ongoing operation aimed at monitoring gang activity and apprehending wanted persons in the region.
The arrests included six people affiliated with the Mongols gang and 13 others for active warrants, bail breaches, and other offenses, according to Superintendent Tony Hill.
As the weekend approaches Canterbury residents can expect an increased police presence on roads and within communities.
Police teams, including the Antisocial Road User Team, the Impairment Prevention Team, and Highway and Road Policing Officers, are mobilised to address “unlawful and antisocial driving”.
Multiple vehicle stops have already resulted in two motorcycles being impounded and driving restrictions placed on two individuals.
