Davidson apologises after arriving late and losing Right to Repair Bill

Right to Repair Bill news

Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson has apologised after her Consumer Guarantees (Right to Repair) Amendment Bill was struck from Parliament’s agenda when she arrived about 20 seconds late for its second reading.

Despite efforts to have it reinstated, the House rejected the motion, meaning the bill—intended to strengthen consumers’ rights to repair goods—will not progress further unless it is redrawn in the future.

Davidson admitted she “made a mistake” by underestimating how quickly proceedings moved and apologised to supporters of the bill, saying she remains committed to the reforms.

  1. Punctuality required
    Instead of sloppy attendances
    But what would You expect?
What we have come to expect
Get rid of the seven dedicated Maori seats
MMP and its inflicted satellite garbage field now

    • I agree. These entitled incompetent people would never become MPs otherwise. Competent people of Maori background don’t need special anything eg Casey Costello, Nicole McKee, James Meagher, Karen Chhour, Winston Peters, shanejones etc etc

Get rid of the maori seats, get rid of the Maori roll. Maori now have more than enough charities, trusts and other non government bodies to provide for themselves.

Look at the disruption these incompetents cause to our parliament by their lack of attendance , and their disruptive behaviour.

  2. One of the sanest and most essential piece of legislation to halt the criminal passage of utter shit from containers to rubbish dumps .What lobby groups are at work on the “House” that it so gleefully got to throw it out ?

  3. Would the so called Gene Tech Bill have been struck if someone was 20 seconds late? We all know the answer, don’t we…….

  4. And that’s why individuals like that are unemployable in the real world.
    They govern.
Pollies need to be reprimanded or sacked for truancy.
Check out parliament TV….always almost empty, BS speeches in front of an empty house, laughing at the sheeple who foot the tax bill for their self-important delusions of grandeur, while rigging a pretense of governing.
