Leiataua was accused of sexually abusing two girls aged 8 and 12 over a period of four years from 2010.
The victims now aged 19 and 24 gave evidence in the trial.
After 10 hours of deliberation the jury found Leiataua guilty.
Leiataua had left New Zealand for Samoa in 2014, but was extradited back to New Zealand in 2020 to face trial.
Leiataua accepted he had been in a sexual relationship with the older complainant, but maintained it was consensual and in the ‘nature of marriage.’
He denied all allegations in relation to the younger victim.
Leiataua will be sentenced next month.
