Fatal plane crash in San Diego destroys homes and triggers evacuations

A small Cessna 550 aircraft crashed into a residential neighbourhood in San Diego’s Murphy Canyon early Thursday morning local time, resulting in multiple fatalities among those on board.

Though several homes were destroyed and cars caught fire, no serious injuries were reported among residents, thanks to swift evacuations of around 100 people.

Authorities described a chaotic scene with jet fuel scattered across the area and confirmed a direct impact to multiple homes.

The plane was reportedly en route to Montgomery Field, and while the identities of the victims remain unknown, emergency crews continue search and safety operations amid the devastation.

So far in 2025, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has logged 250 aviation incidents and accidents across the United States, with approximately 215 being fatal.
Among these, 182 incidents involved airplanes exclusively.
There have been several high-profile crashes, including a deadly midair collision near Washington, D.C., in January and a recent business jet crash in San Diego.

Dorothy Hunt died in the United Airlines Flight 553 crash in Chicago, Illinois, on December 8, 1972.
According to The Washington Post, even though over 50 years have passed, it is still unclear whether foul play was involved in her death. (see Link below picked from random)

The FBI were in the area and waiting for the crash to happen and were quickly on the scene to ram-age and search through items deemed as being pertinent to ongoing ‘investigations’ (coverups)
