Police detained two women in relation to the theft of $1,000 worth of goods yesterday from Greenlane Countdown.
A third person was referred to Youth Aid.
The getaway car driven by the thieves broke down on the Southern Motorway.
A witness to the robbery informed police at the scene of the breakdown that the occupants were involved in the robbery.
The two women in their 30s will appear in Court on 30 November.
While there is no justification for this crime, it also reveals the cost of living crisis that is going on in the country for a section of the public.
In the UK the cops have been told not to arrest or prosecute in some extreme hard cases where a person cannot afford food, or- to use discretion in deciding whether or not to arrest!
Coming soon to a supermarket near you?
At least Cosco arriving in Auckland has now proven that New World, Countdown, and the rest of the rip-off ilks are getting their come-uppance, as they had to drop their prices which were proven to be nothing less than price gouging if not extortion! They’ve been ‘caught-out’,
And what will the Commerce Commission do about this now-exposed rip off? Absolutely NOTHING!!!!
Seen the over-priced fruit and veggies of late that sits on the shelves of the produce departments? No one is buying the $7.99 cauliflowers, $5.00 broccoli, and the fruit that is rotting out on the floor! The cauliflowers are limp and soft like a P-addicted brain!!!
But hey; ‘Let’s Get Growing’ while we build our veggie garden beds out of ‘Bricks’…just make sure that you don’t cut yourselves, as this will lead to a blood infection that the local A&E will misdiagnose and send you home to die from sepsis as you lay amongst your seedlings…!
Well, supermarkets in NZ are also theiving NZ public. Grocery prices in NZ is up to 3 times more than UK prices. Watch

for the latest UK Aldi grocery prices. With little over 60 pounds (about NZD120), a wide variety of food is bought in UK. We will spending about 250 NZD or even more in Auckland to buy something similar.
Thanks to Jacinda Arden, kiwis are heading into more and more poverty and debts.
