A distressing medical incident at Auckland’s Greenlane Hospital has led to a critical report by the Health and Disability Commission, following a complaint about a procedure in 2019.
During a treatment to remove abnormal cervical cells, a woman in her 20s experienced severe pain when a live electrical loop was applied to her cervix without the required local anaesthetic.
The patient was told she wouldn’t feel pain, however, the absence of anaesthesia resulted in intense suffering. The two doctors involved, a senior gynaecological oncologist and a junior doctor, failed to administer the local anaesthetic beforehand, with the senior doctor bearing the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the patient’s comfort and safety.
The commission’s findings highlighted significant lapses in patient care and procedural standards, leading to an apology from Te Whatu Ora Health NZ.
In addition to the initial oversight, the patient also reported burns from iodine used in the treatment.
The report recommended policy updates for Te Whatu Ora, including ensuring follow-up calls for patients who experience adverse events or distress during procedures and considering a saline wash post-gynaecological treatments involving iodine to prevent similar incidents.

Question is this; was the young woman known to the PTB and targeted for some reason?
With the way the Covid Crisis was not handled properly, nothing would surprise me…
This seems to happen with greater occurrence- patients waking up in the middle of an op, or not enough medication being given during procedures.
One can only imagine- especially with the WHO Pandemic waiver over National Sovereignty and the Deagel Forecast for 2025..!
You are so right
Doctors don’t care. In fact, they hate you.
Just pay up and vacate the bed for the next cash cow. Porsche’s aren’t cheap.
