Investor visa scheme revamped to attract wealthy foreigners

Investor VIsa Scheme news
Wellington.

The government is overhauling its investor visa programme to attract more foreign capital, replacing the underutilised ‘Active Investor Plus’ visa with two new categories from April 1.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced the ‘Growth’ category, requiring a $5 million investment in higher-risk ventures over three years, and the ‘Balanced’ category, requiring $10 million over five years with lower-risk options.

The changes aim to simplify the process, expand investment opportunities, and remove barriers like the English language requirement.

  1. They can sell this country out to foreigners, but when the Cook Islands do the same thing they get all bent out of shape.Whose interest do they represent?

  2. Just like Jon key.
Sold this country to the Chinese and others like his mate Peter theil. Buy nz residency.

    Disgusting globalist sell outs.

  3. Y’all too poor to make any money off of. Gotta get some rich people in here to drive up property/housing market/real estate boom.
Sadly you’ll be the new Hawaiians. They can’t afford to buy a home on their own islands 😕.

    • This is real. When I recently went on my first trip to Hawaii I wondered if I’d actually see any local Hawaiins. I did, living in tents on the dry, western coast

  4. Why would I want to come to NZ if I have $5Mil?! There are plenty of other places ‘closer to the rest of the world’ and no or minimum red-tape BS to start a business -certainly less than here-, as well as no such self-entitled white-collar working class ‘demanding’ WFH arrangements.
