McAnulty denies interest in Labour leadership

Senior Labour MP Kieran McAnulty has firmly denied any interest in replacing Chris Hipkins as the leader of the Opposition, asserting his loyalty and satisfaction with his current role.

In a Q+A interview today McAnulty said only journalists are curious about his leadership ambitions, while party members and constituents do not broach the topic. He said the ongoing speculation is “not helpful” and urged the media to stop inquiring about it. McAnulty reiterated his support for Hipkins, stating, “I just don’t want it. I’m not interested. [Hipkins] is genuinely a mate and I 100 percent back him.”

Despite Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and others referencing the speculation, McAnulty stands by Hipkins, who led Labour through a difficult election defeat in 2023.

McAnulty noted a rising dissatisfaction with the current government and “an increasing interest” in Labour’s “alternative plans.”

“Not many leaders in parliament can say they’ve got the unanimous support of caucus, but Chris Hipkins can,” McAnulty said.

  1. Nope.

We don’t want Kieran McNasty in charge of anything thanks very much.

Obviously he’s just (yet another) stereotypical indoctrinated deranged woke communist fool who will turn NZ into Venezuela given half a chance.

  2. Ha ha ha. Liebour could give my dog the top job and they would still stay in the opposition. That said, there is no opposition as such, just round after round, of treacherous globalists.

  3. With all due respect McAnulty is simply an evil communist twat who should f*uck off ASAP to North Korea, where hopefully he’ll find some happiness.
