New chair and Deputy appointed to Maritime NZ board

Maritime NZ appointments

Associate Transport Minister James Meager has announced major leadership changes at Maritime New Zealand, confirming the appointment of a new Chair and Deputy Chair alongside two new board members.

Current Deputy Chair Kevin Short will step into the role of Chair from 1 July 2026, succeeding Dame Jo Brosnahan, who has led the board since December 2018. Short has served as Deputy Chair since April 2025.

Meager said Short had already made a significant contribution to the board and had developed a strong understanding of Maritime NZ’s responsibilities and long-term direction. He said Short would provide continuity, experience, and sound judgement in the leadership role.

Charles Finny and Belinda Clark will join the board as new members in late May and June respectively, with Finny to take over as Deputy Chair from 1 July 2026.

Meager said Finny brought extensive governance and public-sector experience, along with expertise in trade, exports, and maritime regulation. He also highlighted Finny’s strong relationships with port chief executives around New Zealand.

Clark was praised for her governance experience and leadership background, particularly in organisational delivery, audit oversight, and risk management across major public-sector agencies in both New Zealand and Australia.

The Minister also paid tribute to Dame Jo Brosnahan for guiding the board through a period marked by significant disruption and change, thanking her for her years of service ahead of her term ending on 30 June 2026.

  1. Getting ready for work to convert the Royal New Zealand Navy over to the Royal New Zealand Coast Guard in role only, operating within NZ Territorial Waters and maintaining NZ Sovereignty & not supporting the Zionist on the …’high seas’???
What sayeth the Ministry of Defence??? Or..even the Royal New Zealand Navy?
Will the current Royal New Zealand Coast Guard re-titled their vessels to read ‘Royal New Zealand Life Saving Service-Sea’???
Will the change-over be on the ballots in November under the Swiss Model of ‘Open Democracy’???
I doubt it, as the Zionists Banksters and Talmudic cash running NZ would never even allow such an event to occur, but they stand casually by whilst the minor parties are marginalised, disenfranchised, persecuted, debanked under ‘Anti-Terrorism Laws’, and PROSECUTED for sharing video footage of the Chch Massacre before such was made ILLEGAL by Comrade Ardern in the timeline!
Then, I had to turn-in my semi-auto AK-74 and my SKS which would have been used to defend NZ against hostile invaders!

  2. This dame has no affinity to fishing, never owned a boat, never dived, probably can’t even gut a fish.
Wonder if the new ‘experts’ can make reality connected judgements.
