Police are searching for 56-year-old Dean Shedden after he failed to return to Mt Eden Corrections Facility on Friday 14 November, breaching the compassionate bail conditions granted by the court.
A warrant has now been issued for his arrest, and officers have spent the week checking known addresses, believing Shedden is actively trying to evade capture.
Police warn that he should not be approached; anyone who sees him is urged to call 111 immediately.
Information about his whereabouts can also be provided via the non-emergency line 105, quoting reference 251114/1828, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
He was sentenced to 18 years for multiple robbery and firearms crimes in 2008, so if he is on remand in 2025, he must be on bail for other crimes more recently committed.
