Police appeal for witnesses to Huntly Crash
Police are appealing for information following a fatal, single vehicle crash that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, 24 September.
Police responded to the crash on Harris Street, Huntly, involving a dark blue/ grey Honda Accord Sedan, around 12am.
‘The investigation team are now working to determine the circumstances around this collision,’ said Sergeant Steven Jones, Northwestern Waikato Strategic Traffic Unit.
‘Anyone who saw the Honda Accord prior to the crash, especially between the hours of 10pm and 12am, is encouraged to contact Police.
‘Police would like to thank the members of the public who assisted the injured driver who sadly passed away at the scene from their injuries.’

Body found in Waikato River, Hamilton
Police are making enquiries after a body was found in the Waikato River in Hamilton last night.
Around 5:30pm Police were notified by a member of the public of a body in the water.
Staff have now recovered the deceased from the water and will begin enquiries to determine their identity, notify their next of kin and determine the circumstance around their death.
This may take some time and more information will be provided once available.
Update today @ 4.20pm – Body in Waikato River referred to Coroner
Police can now advise that the person whose body was found in the Waikato River yesterday has been identified following a post mortem.
The family of the deceased has been notified and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police will be making follow up enquiries on behalf of the coroner.
Missing Tirau man
The Tirau man reported missing earlier today has been found safe and well.
