Fatal crash, Moerewa
One person has died following a fatal crash in Moerewa, Far North, on Wednesday evening.
The single-vehicle crash, on Wahamiti Lane, was reported to Police at around 9.50pm.
Sadly, one person received critical injuries and died at the scene.
‘Police extend our condolences to their friends and whānau at this time.’
The Serious Crash Unit attended and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are underway.
Fatal house fire – Ōpōtiki
A person has died after a fire at a Bridge Street property in Ōpōtiki overnight.
Emergency services were called to the address about 2.20am.
The single-storey dwelling was fully engulfed, and a man was located deceased at the scene.
Enquiries into the cause of the fire are under way.
