Protest action, The Terrace
Five people have now been arrested following protest action blocking the road on The Terrace this morning.
They will now face charges.
Police thank members of the public for their patience.
Name release – fatal crash, Mt Maunganui
Police can now confirm the name of the person who died in a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle on Friday 28 April.
He was Bryan Edward Marris, 59, of Papamoa Beach.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Update – Fatal crash, Hamilton
Police can now confirm one person has died following a serious crash in Hamilton reported about 12.50pm.
The crash occurred in a carpark in the area of Clyde Street.
Sadly, one person died at the scene.
The carpark was closed but has since reopened.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
