Trump pledges to close US Dept of Education in wide-ranging reform of struggling school system

Trump - Dept of Education news

President elect Donald Trump will enact wide-ranging reforms of the US education system, starting with the closure of the Washington DC-based Department of Education.

“One of the things I’ll be doing very early in the Administration is closing up the Department of Education in Washington DC and sending all education and education worker needs back to the states – we want them to run the education of our children because they’ll do a much better job of it. You can’t do worse. We spend more money per pupil, by three times, than any other nation. And yet we’re absolutely at the bottom – we’re on of the worst. So, you can’t do worse. We’re going to end education coming out of Washington DC. We’re going to close it up. All those buildings all over the place, and all those people that in many cases hate our children, we’re going to send it all back to the states.”

American Culture Project’s Corey Deangelis says Donald Trump’s plan to dismantle the department of education is “amazing”.

Speaking to Sky News Australia he said, “This is amazing, it is music to my ears, the department of education, which we should rename as the ‘Department of Indoctrination’ in the United States started in 1979. It was a pay-off by Jimmy Carter to the teacher’s unions, who gave him an endorsement in that election cycle.

“We have spent about $2 trillion since the inception of the department. Spending has gone up, outcomes have not got any better. We should send the money hack to the states. Let the individual states decide how to spend that money that increases local control and reduces the amount of wasteful spending on useless bureaucrats up in Washington DC.

”If you look at the trends here in the US, since 2000 we have data to now, student enrolment has only increased by 5%, teachers have increased by 10% and faster, but administrative growth has increased by 95%. Let’s give that money back to the states, let them decide how to spend that money wisely and improve student outcomes.”

A revamp of the Curriculum is also set to take place, with the removal of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and gender ideology and other “inappropriate racial, sexual or political content.”

“The schools have activists in them that would rather focus on controlling the minds of other people’s children, and shaping them towards a socialist world view, as opposed to improving the educated citizenry in our country. He’s [ie. Trump] talking about school choice as well, which would empower parents to choose for their own kids.”

From a parent’s perspective, school choice offers several advantages, allowing them to select schools that align with their child’s unique learning style, interests, and needs, and the parent’s philosophy and beliefs. At present children are assigned a school based on their Zip code, giving parents no choice but to use a local school who may struggle with resources, overcrowding, or low performance.

School choice also encourages schools to continuously improve to attract and retain students. Many parents see this as an advantage, as it can drive schools to adopt innovative teaching methods, develop more robust programmes, and increase accountability to families. This environment pushes schools to excel, creating a more dynamic and competitive educational landscape.

  1. As importantly, they should shut down all departments/schools/faculties at universities which do not offer career oriented professional programs. Most Social ‘Science’ learning programs do not equip students for anything more than to be woke agitators. They do not offer any ROI for the tax payer, are unemployable, end up with a financial and psychological disadvantage and a skills deficit when they enter the job market. The universties are the Temples of Wokism and should be mostly shut down as they have a destabilising effect on society. At the very minimum they should be defunded, so that local students pay the same rates as international students.

  2. Officially or unofficially the education system world wide has for decades been part of the socialist / globalist military industrial complex people with school age kids should be home schooling. Teach them right from wrong and sane for socialist ideologically driven rubbish whose only agenda is to help destroy society for their globalist bosses.
